Asbestos Services
- Nova Environmental conducts air sampling and bulk surveys, including hazard
assessments.
- We provide sample analysis (identification and quantification) of asbestos
in bulk or air samples using PLM, PCM, TEM and SEM.
- We provide compliance consultation regarding EPA, OSHA, MIOSHA, NIOSH and
MDPH methods and procedures.

- We are available for consultation regarding remedial actions, Operations and

Specification Development and Project Management
- Nova Environmental develops technical specifications for asbestos abatement
projects in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- We can assist building owners in reviewing bids and selecting asbestos
abatement contractors.
- We will provide consultation and guidance to ensure compliance with all
applicable regulations, including EPA, OSHA, NESHAP, and AHERA regulations.
- We provide response action supervision and guidance for all abatement
activities.
- We will conduct air monitoring before, during and after response actions
and/or abatement projects.

Training Services
Provide asbestos related training courses to school administrators, custodial
staff, maintenance employees, architects, engineers, contractors, supervisors

Operations and Maintenance Program Development
- -Develop Operations and Maintenance Programs designed specifically to
fulfill the client's needs.
- Provide technical assistance for small-scale, short-duration activities and
emergency situations.
- Provide medical surveillance programs and respirator programs.
Qualifications
Nova staff is trained and accredited in the following AHERA disciplines:
- Accredited Building Inspectors
- Accredited Management Planners
- Accredited Project Designers
- Accredited Asbestos Supervisors
- Nova staff is trained in NIOSH 582 or equivalent course for Sampling and
Evaluating Airborne Asbestos Dust
- Nova has developed a thorough Quality Control Program and participates in
the PAT (Proficiency Analytical Testing) Program as well as a Round Robin
Program

Qualifications
- Assessment staff trained to conduct Environmental Audits and Site
Assessments in Property Transfers through the Georgia Institute of Technology.
- Assessment staff are certified property assessors through the National
Registry of Environmental Professionals.

Indoor Air Quality
- NOVA Environmental conducts building studies to identify potential source(s)
of contamination.
- We conduct typical air quality sampling including but not limited, to
organic vapor, radiation, pH, temperature and combustible gases.
- We provide complete and thorough reporting on all tasks performed.
Qualifications
- Our air quality staff has received specialized training through Rutgers
University.
- Our air quality staff is experienced in Indoor Air Quality cases within
commercial buildings, industrial facilities, schools, and hospitals.

Lead-Based Paint
- NOVA Environmental conducts building inspections and sampling/analysis for
lead based paint.
- Our inspection and analysis is conducted using the MAP X-ray fluorescence
(XRF) Spectrum Analyzer.
- We conduct HUD inspections and analysis in accordance with regulations
- We provide complete and thorough reporting in accordance with industry
standards and HUD guidelines.
- We provide Specification Development and air monitoring/project management
for lead abatement activities.
Qualifications
- Our lead staff is licensed by the State of Massachusetts to conduct lead
based paint inspections.
- Nova staff is trained in radiation safety and use of the XRF by manufacture,
in accordance with HUD guidelines.
- Nova has obtained radiation registration from the Michigan Department of
Public Health.
